Toronto Beekeepers Co-operative is looking for a part-time, experienced Beekeeper who likes to work collaboratively. Job requirements:

Help manage beehives at various sites throughout the City of Toronto
Guide new and seasoned beekeepers through hive checks
Work with members and committees of the Toronto Beekeepers Co-operative to organize the day to day operations
Support educational initiatives within the TBC for members and the public
Consult with the TBC for management options of the colonies
Work collaboratively with staff at FoodShare and the various sites
Help with capacity building within the TBC
Track and evaluate, prepare and distribute reports, attend and organize special events and other commitments as required
Needed skills

Experience with honeybees and the management of an apiary
Background with alternative treatment methods and/or organic practices
Enjoy working with a diverse group of people and an appreciation for the range of fields of study connected with beekeeping
Flexible schedule (mix of weekday and weekend work, from April through to November)
Able to work in and around Toronto
First Aid and CPR trained
Computer skills to navigate and post to our TBC website
Access to a car
Optional, nice to have skills

Background in Education or teaching
Grant writing skills
Hours and Compensation: Contract for 125 – 140 hours for 2014, negotiable and based compensation is between $15-$20 hours based on experience

Duration: 1 year with potential for renewal
